Mr. Sunday Jaiyesimi is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan with forty (40) years of experience in public infrastructure planning, design, construction engineering and inspection, utility coordination, infrastructure development agreements, plan review and approvals, and general supervision of design and construction activities.
Mr. Jaiyesimi served as the City Engineer from 1994 to 2004 for the City of Detroit, Michigan with responsibility for providing engineering oversight and funding related guidance for various infrastructure improvements. He also presided over project dispute meetings with contractors and project management team to resolve issues such as project schedules, quality of work, and/or cost overrun. Examples of such project dispute resolution meetings involved the Charles A. Wright Museum of African American History, the Department of Public Works Street Maintenance Administration Building and the General Motors East Riverfront Development roadway construction project in the City of Detroit, Michigan.
In 2005, Mr. Jaiyesimi began his consulting career as President and CEO of Urban Engineering Solutions, PC located in Novi, Michigan. Some of the services provided include construction management and inspection services for the reconstruction of the Greater Detroit Resource Recovery Authority Transfer Station and Project Consultant services for the City of Detroit DDA/DEGC.
As of 2016, Mr. Jaiyesimi is a certified member of the State of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Dispute Resolution Board (DRB), and an active member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF) Region 1.
The DRB project experience on multiple MDOT Projects, comprises of Interstate Highways and Bridges with construction costs from $18million to $300million.
Mr. Jaiyesimi is also an active member of the Michigan Council of Minority Transportation Official (COMTO).
